June is the time to renew your membership or become a member for the very first time! Your work helps support poetry throughout Stanislaus County including the donation of new poetry books to elementary schools, Poetry Out Loud (a national recitation contest for high school students), the Aileen Jaffa Poetry Awards, free summer poetry workshops, the publication of new work by Stanislaus County poets, the Modesto Poetry Festival, the Sunday Reading series at the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock, the 2nd Tuesday Reading series at the Barkin’ Dog in Modesto, and readings and workshops at elementary schools and senior centers. You can find a membership form right in the middle of our home page for your convenience.

2017 Summer/Fall Poetry Workshops

Join us for some outstanding summer poetry workshops at the Downtown Modesto Library! All workshops are FREE TO THE PUBLIC with materials and inspiration provided. Sponsored by Modesto-Stanislaus Poetry Center and the Stanislaus County Library, these poetry workshops cover a wide range of topics and feature MoSt Board members sharing their writing wisdom with the community:
