Congratulations to Stanislaus County Youth Poets!

This year, MoSt Poetry was thrilled to be involved again at the local level in the national youth poetry recitation competition Poetry Out Loud. MoSt board members put in hours of volunteer work at local high schools, making presentations and mentoring competitors, and the hard work of students and board members alike paid off–our Stanislaus County winner, Nicholas Panyanouvong, took second runner-up in the state-level competition on March 13th in Sacramento. Nicholas is a freshman at James C. Enochs High School, so we hope he will be encouraged by his success and decide to compete again next year.

For more information about this year’s Poetry Out Loud competition, please read the official press release from California Arts Council. You can also find some videos and photos on the California Poetry Out Loud Facebook page.
